ANU Postdoc in Computational Topology

The Mathematical Sciences Institute at the Australian National University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the modeling of stratified spaces using computational topology.

About the Position This position will contribute to the research effort being led by Katharine Turner, in collaboration with Stephen Roberts and Markus Hegland, within the Mathematical Sciences Institute. The position will collaborate with them on modelling stratified spaces from point cloud data using methods from computational topology. The position will also collaborate with other internal and external researchers relevant to the project, along with research students and professional staff, as required. In addition, the postdoctoral fellow will have multiple opportunities to present their findings at conferences and workshops. Applicants are expected to have an outstanding research record in computational topology or a related area, as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals, software development and attendance at workshops and conferences. This is a research intensive position and the level of, Academic Level A or B, is to be determined by the appointee’s current research and teaching expertise. The successful candidate will be involved in some teaching both in their area of specialisation and standard mathematics undergraduate courses, however this will be at a reduced level.
