Copies of the book will be available to browse through, and participants interested in buying a copy can prepay at a discounted price of $40 (tax included). Prepaid books will be signed and delivered at the event.

CUNY requires all campus visitors to be fully vaccinated. In order to issue campus access passes, we need RSVP in advance.

When? Friday April 8, 5pm-7pm
Where? CUNY Graduate Center, 365 5th Avenue, NYC; Room 4201.
Order book by? March 24
RSVP by? March 29

After the event finishes, we are planning an afterparty at some cocktail bar in NYC. Indicate your interest with your RSVP.

Tenure Track at VU Amsterdam

The Vrije Unversiteit Amsterdam is advertising two tenure track positions. From the advertisement:

Our department is looking for mathematicians with a proven expertise in geometric and topological aspects of data and algorithms. This topic can be interpreted in a wide sense: we are interested in analytical, statistical, probabilistic and combinatorial ideas to deepen our understanding of the relation between geometric and topological ideas on the one hand, and data science and its algorithms on the other hand. Concrete subject fields include stochastic geometry, topological (methods in) data analysis, geometric aspects of statistical learning, reconstruction of manifolds from data, equivariant deep neural networks, and applications of these. Other combinations of geometry/topology and data/algorithms are also a possibility. In this position, you develop their own research line. The position of Assistant Professor is initially a tenure track position for five years. After four years, based on transparent criteria, we will take a decision on the tenure. The preferred starting date is on or before September 1, 2022.

Researcher or Professorship positions, joint Math/CS, at Utrecht University, Netherlands

Lennart Meier writes:
I would like to bring four vacancies at Utrecht University in the Netherlands to your attention. Two of these are joint with the computer science department; possible themes include (but are not limited to) topological data analysis and homotopy type theory. Two further positions are joint with the physics department; possible themes include (but are not limited to) topological or conformal field theory or the study of topological phases of matter. In general, if your research touches physics or computer science, please do not hesitate to apply.

The level of the positions is up to negotiation, ranging from a 5-year lecturer/researcher position to an associate professorship. The application deadline is March 14.

TDA Senior Postdoc – Turing-Roche – TDA in health/biomed data

Heather Harrington writes:
We have now opened an advert
for two Senior Research Associate positions for the Turing-Roche
partnership. The posts are full-time for 3 years and will give the
post holder(s) experience working closely with both Turing and Roche
to help shape the direction of the partnership, as well as the freedom
to develop their own area of aligned research under the mentorship
from senior leaders in both academia and industry. We’re keen to
attract some great candidates so would appreciate if you could share
far and wide with your networks- the job advert with more information
is here. https://cezanneondemand.intervieweb.it/turing/jobs/senior_research_associate_turingroche_partnership_19065/en/

The board is very interested in TDA for health/biomed data. This is
based in London at the Alan Turing Institute, but there will be
interaction with board members, many of them across the UK including
Cambridge and Oxford. This is a senior postdoc, so some postdoc
experience would be helpful.
Please encourage strong candidates to apply!
